Get ready for the Quilters’ Marketplace & Book Sale, to be held during the regular day meeting on May 26th!
The Quilters’ Marketplace is timed to coincide with spring cleaning, and gives guild members an opportunity to sell and buy their (1) new and gently used quilting and crafting supplies (tools, sewing machines, books, fabric, etc) along with (2) handmade items (e.g. quilts and other quilted items, knitted ditties, soaps, candles, and jewelry) – please do not bring any furniture or food/beverage to sell. Beginning March 5, guild members may purchase a table for $10 (see tickets below – on April 5th, you may purchase a 2nd table subject to availability). If you purchase a table, you can share it with other members (these other members don’t have to register – you can make your own arrangements with them). There will be 17 tables available to rent (12 rectangular and 5 round – available first come first choice on the morning of the market – setup starts at 9 AM in La Salette Hall – you must finish setting up by 10 AM). Each table will have 1-2 chairs – access to electricity cannot be guaranteed. The business meeting starts at 10 AM – the Quilter’s Market will open at the conclusion of the meeting (no sales until then). Sellers must pack up their unsold items and be ready to depart by 12:30 pm. As a seller, you are responsible for collecting payment by cash or whatever other method you are comfortable taking (all sale proceeds go to the seller).
The Library Committee will also host a Book Sale this month. With a large selection to choose from, and prices ranging from free to $10, there is something for everyone.
The public will be invited to shop at both the Quilters’ Market & Book Sale. This month, admission is free for visitors – please invite your friends!
We will have a special guest at the May day meeting – Pam Younker from Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. She will be presented with the Beads of Courage bags we’ve made so far, and share with us the plan for how our bags will be used – this a must see event!
