Quilting The Pandemic

April 1 - June 4

Everyone was undeniably touched by the COVID-19 pandemic in some way. The Marietta Cobb Museum of Art partnered with Peggy Beaman of Roswell Quilts, the William Root House, and the Marietta History Center to collect stories, memories, feelings, and moments in time from the start of the pandemic until today by way of handmade quilt squares. Hundreds of community members from all ages, industries, and backgrounds submitted unique quilt squares, which were compiled and sewn together into over a dozen quilts. Supplemented by vintage and single-artist quilts, this exhibition ultimately presents a visual experience that reflects on one of the most pivotal periods of the 21st century. Further, this exhibition ties the contemporary situation into a greater conversation of American history and perseverance.

Opening Night Reception: Saturday April 1, 2023, from 6:00 to 8:00pm. Admission is an included benefit for members. Guests are welcome at $10 per person. Membership can be purchased at the event.
