Thursday Workshop: Natural Cadence with Anna Maria Horner

Please join us for Anna Maria’s Thursday workshop, when we will be making her Natural Cadence pattern and exploring a rise and fall in the peaks and valleys of very basic patchwork squares set on point. All of the interest comes by way of color choice, an irregular edge and vintage charm via applique. The quilt alternates between 16” log cabin blocks and whole feature blocks. The color arrangement is balanced in symmetry and in value for a striking effect. You could easily replace the solid fabrics with more prints or replace the whole fabric blocks with more favorite patchwork. The flower and butterfly appliques come together at four way block intersections and each finish with a circle or oval in the center. Mitered corners created from a print that cheats strip piecing, offer a nice framing that could as easily be achieved from a more basic striped fabric.

Please also bring your sewing machine (with cords, foot pedal, presser feet, extension cord, etc) and all the usual supplies you bring to a workshop (thread, scissors, cutting mat, rulers, rotary cutter, etc).

Registration is open to all.  Workshop registration opens to members on July 5, 2023. Registration opens to non-members on August 5, 2023. This workshop is limited to 24 students. Registration is made by payment of the workshop fee and is accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Payment must be made by credit card at the time of registration to secure your place in the workshop. Workshop Fee: $55 Members / $65 Non-Members (the pattern is included in the workshop fee and will be emailed to you prior to class).

Cancellation Deadline is September 13, 2023. You must notify programs@ecqg.com at least 14 days prior to the workshop to receive a refund. In accordance with Square’s policy, a processing fee of $1.90 will be deducted from any refunds.  Workshop fees are non-refundable after this date. Workshop registration is non-transferable.

Deadline to register is 5 pm the day prior to the workshop (subject to availability).

Reminder: This workshop takes place at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA) – if you feel at risk, please have your mask on before you enter the building.

Anna Maria will have a pop-up store at this workshop.

IF  the tickets for this workshop are sold out, and you would like to be placed on the wait list, please submit the following form and we will contact you if/when a spot becomes available.  If/when you are contacted that a space has opened up, you must reply and purchase your ticket within 24 hours, or we will move to the next person on the wait list.
