That means little to no marking, and a whole lot of gorgeous texture. Tara Faughnan is a professional freelance textile designer, well known for her modern quilt designs, and we are excited that she will be joining us virtually for a lecture and workshop. In this virtual workshop, Tara will be using her Give and Take quilt as an exercise in controlled improvisation. This method of practicing improv within the block, and then squaring it up for final construction, allows room for a lot of play and exploration both in color and form. Please join us for Anna Maria's Thursday workshop, when we will be making her Natural Cadence pattern and exploring a rise and fall in the peaks and valleys of very basic patchwork squares set on point. All of the interest comes by way of color choice, an irregular edge and vintage charm via applique. The quilt alternates between 16” log cabin blocks and whole feature blocks. The color arrangement is balanced in symmetry and in value for a striking effect.
