Quilting The Pandemic
Marietta Cobb Museum of Art 30 Atlanta Street SE, Marietta, GA, United StatesEveryone was undeniably touched by the COVID-19 pandemic in some way. The Marietta Cobb Museum of Art partnered with Peggy Beaman of Roswell Quilts, the William Root House, and the Marietta History Center to collect stories, memories, feelings, and moments in time from the start of the pandemic until today by way of handmade quilt squares. Hundreds of community members from all ages, industries, and backgrounds submitted unique quilt squares, which were compiled and sewn together into over a dozen quilts. Entwined: A Group Exhibition of Textile and Fiber Art

Ruby Ruby Challenge Quilts Exhibit
Sewell Mill Library and Cultural Center 2051 Lower Roswell Road, Marietta, GA, United StatesTwenty-five “Ruby Ruby” challenge quilts will be on exhibit from May 25 through July 1 at the Sewell Mill Library and Cultural Center Gallery. They are from the most recent challenge competition between East Cobb Quilters’ Guild members this year. East Cobb Quilters’ Guild has a long history of annual Guild quilt challenges. The quilts that will be on display were inspired by the Guild’s recent 40th Anniversary Year and a red color scheme was chosen based on the year’s representative ruby stone.
