Community Service

East Cobb Quilters’ Guild has a long history of community service.  Members give freely of their time and energy to create great quilts and other items for donation to area charities.  Often gathering in small groups to sew, members also benefit from the friendships that develop and deepen while these projects are created.

Here are some projects that Guild members are working on now:

Quilts for Cobb County DFCS

for children taken into foster care.  The children’s ages range from newborns to teens and quilts are needed for boys and girls.  Quilts are accepted at each meeting and delivered to DFCS periodically.  Labels printed on fabric are available.  Click here for a label you can print yourself.

Pillowcases for Ryans Case for Smiles

A bright, fun pillowcase can brighten a sick child’s day.  Click here for pillowcase instructions.  To prepare a pillowcase for donation, please launder the pillowcase in unscented detergent, Press, Fold, and insert in a quart-sized ziplock bag.

Placemats for Cobb County Meals on Wheels

Hundreds of older adults and disabled individuals are served by the Cobb County Meals on Wheels Program staffed by volunteer drivers.  Lunch is a lot more fun with a pretty placemat, especially at holiday time.  Placemats should measure about 12 inches by 16 inches, or larger.
